I am a native of the Netherlands and started my career in the hospitality industry at the age of 16 with an internship in Viseu, Portugal, at Hotel Montebello. Returning to Amsterdam upon completion of the internship, I studied Hotel Management at the Hotel School of Amsterdam.
In 2001, I started my BA in Tourism and Leisure Management at the University INHOLLAND in Amsterdam, gaining experience as a waiter/butler in the five-star deluxe venues of Hotel the Grand and Hotel de l’Europe. Through my studies I continued my professional development with a management internship at Stage Entertainment International, a company which specializes in musical and live-show entertainment and in 2005 I graduated with a thesis regarding the internal communication of the KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Human Resources Department.
In 2006, I moved to the United States to work as an onboard officer for Holland America, where I was responsible for the special restaurants and VIP lounges.
In July 2007, I moved to Italy to study Italian and to expand my career, working for seven years as Managing Director of boutique hotel Villa La Palagina in the hills of Tuscany.
In mid-2015, I joined the team as General Manager of the famous Medici wine estate – Villa Medicea di Lilliano. This start-up project boasts award-winning olive oil, high-valued wines with a history reaching back more than 100 years, and new accommodation in the historical buildings of the Estate.
I look forward to meeting you at Villa Medicea di Liliano!
