We are very pleased to announce the next NRBC Event in Florence to be held on Thursday 19 April!
After the success of the 2017 exhibit at the Grand Palais in Paris and at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, 50 artists from OpenArtCode, among which the Dutch artists Eva Beumer and Marianne J. Jansen, will show their works in the Salone di Donatello, Florence, from 19th April to 8th May 2018.
Member Leontine Streefkerk is working together with Dr Abba, curator of the Exhibit, to organize an exclusive tour for the NRBC on the first day after the opening, being on Thursday 19 April.
We are pleased to announce an interesting networking evening with the topic “Business development and e-commerce in Italy” to be held in Rome. The speakers will be Vice President Godelieve Cooymans of Proaxxes Srl and Olaf Bussink of E-taly Srl.
Godelieve will discuss the activities of her company, which are inter alia providing commercial business growth services in Italy to foreign companies and to Italian SME’s on the global market place.
The services delivered by Olaf are similar to those of Godelieve but for e-commerce companies that wish to operate in Italy. Olaf will also tell us about the fast-growing Italian e-commerce market and illustrate some particularities such as the fact that Italians are starting to order goods with their telephone.
The presentations will be followed by a buffet-dinner.
The NRBC evening will take place on 7 March at 19.00 hours. Only members can attend the evening.
On May 22, 2017, the NRBC Netherlands Roman Business Club, organized, in close collaboration with the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Rome, a very interesting and successful networking evening at the residence of his Excellency, Ambassador Joep Wijnands.
The topic of the evening was behow innovative real estate projects can requalify an urban area and stimulate the local economy.
We are honored that we had the following important speakers among us:
– Frank Uffen, Director of PartnershipsofThe Student Hotel (TSH). TSH is currently themost active Dutch real estate developer in Italy. Mr. Uffen illustrated us shortly howconcepts like TSH (hybrid hotel/student residence)can stimulate theeconomyin acity district. The Student Hotel is currently working on new locations in Bologna, Florence and Rome.
– Carlo De Vito, PresidentofFS Sistemi Urbani(the real estate company of the Italian railways). Mr. De Vito showed us redevelopment proposals of the seven “railway areas” in downtown Milan from various international architecture firms, including Mecanoo, a well-known Dutch architecture firm based in Delft, the Netherlands.
–Alessandro Belli, Head of Tourism Real EstateofCDP Investimenti SGR S.p.A. Mr. Belli presented briefly the role of his fund management company (which is owned by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti SpA, ACRI and ABI) as a potential partner for (i) the Italian public administrations (in order to boost tourism by investing in infrastructure), (ii) hotel management companies (to support growth through the separation of Opco’s/Propco’s and to favor new openings), and (iii) institutional investors (to jointly invest in tourism real estate).
– Paolo Desideri, partnerof the architectural firmABDR. Prof. Paolo Desideri shared three innovative projects realized by his firm in Italy, among which the new high-speed railway station of Rome Tiburtina. NRBC member Gijs Pyckevet, who works at ABDR, has actively participated in the design of this project.
– Adolfo F.L. Baratta, Associate Professor in Architecture Technology, Department of Architecture of the Roma Tre University. Prof. Baratta gave us a brief overview of the development of the Erasmus program in numbers of students moving within Europe in relation to student housing available in the various European cities and the Italian legal framework for the (co)financing of student residences.

Theme: What is the goal of the NRBC and who are its members?
The idea is that every present member will give a short introduction of him/herselfand his/her workin the English language. MAX time per person is 3 minutes, similar to the Japanese method calledPecha Kucha!
Following the Pecha Kucha introductions, Angela Mannaerts (President) and Godelieve Cooymans(Vice President) will explain the objectives and thefuture of the NRBC.
The evening continues with a typical Italian Apericena!
We will have two rooms at our disposal, including a covered terrace, where, in case of good weather, we can enjoy our Apericena!
Fees per person: € 25.00 all in for members and € 35.00 all in for guests. If still due, you may consider to take the opportunity to provide for the settlement of your annual fee at the entrance (€ 35,- per person for 2016).
